Patient Care & Treatment Sales Coordinator
Grand Mission Dentistry | Richmond, TX
Starting Base Salary: $50,000 + Performance-Based Incentive Compensation
Full-Time | 4-Day Workweek | Dental Experience NOT Required
We can teach you dentistry. We need you to bring the drive.
You do not need dental experience to apply for this position.
You do not need to know dental terminology, insurance, implants, treatment planning, X-rays, or how a dental office operates.
We can teach you all of that.
What we are looking for is much harder to teach.
We want someone who naturally connects with people, learns quickly, communicates confidently, follows through, and is motivated by goals and results.
Someone who is comfortable helping people make important decisions.
Someone who isn't afraid to talk about money.
Someone who can hear “no,” continue the conversation professionally, and walk into the next consultation with the same energy.
Someone who wants to become exceptional at what they do — not simply have a job.
We Are Looking for Someone Who:
- Learns quickly and genuinely wants to understand what they are presenting.
- Builds trust easily and enjoys talking with people.
- Can listen closely and recognize what may be holding someone back from making a decision.
- Is comfortable discussing significant financial investments.
- Can confidently ask a patient to move forward.
- Is persistent without being pushy.
- Is motivated by goals, measurable results, and accountability.
- Can handle hearing “no” without taking it personally.
- Follows up instead of waiting for the patient to call back.
- Handles multiple responsibilities without becoming overwhelmed.
- Takes initiative rather than waiting for someone to constantly provide the next instruction.
- Accepts coaching and wants feedback.
- Takes notes, asks questions, studies, and applies what they learn.
- Wants greater responsibility as their knowledge and performance grow.
- Has their teammates' backs.
- Wants a career with significant earning and growth potential.
This Is a Sales Position — But It's About More Than Selling
Our patients are making decisions about their health, confidence, finances, and quality of life.
We don't believe successful treatment coordination means pressuring someone into dentistry.
The doctor diagnoses and recommends treatment.
Your job is to make sure the patient understands what was diagnosed, understands why it matters, understands their options, and feels confident making a decision.
That means building trust first.
It means listening.
It means understanding what is important to the patient.
It means helping them work through concerns instead of simply handing them a treatment estimate.
And yes — it means being comfortable asking for the commitment and helping the patient move forward.
You Will Learn the Dentistry
You are not expected to know dentistry when you walk through the door.
But you will be expected to learn it.
Over time, you will learn how to:
- Understand common dental diagnoses and treatment recommendations.
- Understand what happened during the doctor's examination.
- Recognize what the doctor is showing on X-rays, photographs, and digital scans.
- Review X-rays and iTero scans with patients to reinforce and help explain the doctor's findings.
- Translate dental terminology into language patients can understand.
- Reinforce the doctor's recommendations without diagnosing or changing the treatment plan.
- Explain the purpose and value of recommended treatment.
- Understand the differences between routine, restorative, cosmetic, periodontal, implant, and complex dental care.
- Answer common patient questions confidently.
- Recognize when a clinical question needs to be returned to the doctor.
You will hear these conversations repeatedly, observe our doctors and clinical team, receive training, and continue building your knowledge.
Our expectation is that you eventually become confident enough to understand the clinical conversation and carry that conversation forward with the patient.
The Cases You May Present
This is not limited to small treatment plans.
Once trained, you may present everything from routine dental treatment to comprehensive cases involving significant financial decisions.
That may include:
- Fillings and crowns
- Periodontal treatment
- Invisalign
- Cosmetic dentistry
- Dental implants
- Implant-supported dentures
- Full-arch and comprehensive treatment
- Treatment plans ranging from routine care to $15,000–$50,000+
You must be comfortable discussing large numbers without becoming uncomfortable, apologetic, or assuming what a patient can or cannot afford.
Your job is to clearly explain the treatment, the investment, and the available options — then allow the patient to make an informed decision.
What Success Eventually Looks Like
You meet a patient after the doctor has completed the examination.
You understand what the doctor diagnosed.
You understand what the patient heard in the treatment room.
You can use their X-rays, photographs, and digital scans to help reinforce the conversation.
You can explain the recommended treatment in language the patient understands.
You know how to ask questions and uncover concerns.
You can confidently present a $2,000 treatment plan — or a $40,000 treatment plan.
You can explain financial and payment options without becoming uncomfortable.
You can ask:
“What would keep you from moving forward?”
And then actually listen to the answer.
You help the patient determine their next step.
You collect the appropriate deposit or payment.
You schedule treatment.
And if they aren't ready that day, you follow up.
You don't simply say:
“Call us when you're ready.”
Performance Matters
This is a performance-driven position.
You will have clear expectations, goals, and measurable targets.
Success may be evaluated through areas such as:
- Treatment acceptance
- Treatment scheduled
- Financial commitments and deposits
- Follow-up completion
- Conversion of unscheduled treatment
- Accuracy of treatment and financial presentations
- Patient communication
- Knowledge development
- Reliability
- Team collaboration
- Adherence to office systems and workflows
Meeting and exceeding established performance targets creates the opportunity to earn performance-based incentive compensation in addition to your base salary.
We want someone who finds that exciting rather than intimidating.
Growth & Earning Potential
This position starts with a $50,000 base salary plus performance-based incentive compensation.
But we are not looking for someone who wants to remain at the starting point forever.
We want someone who wants to:
- Master treatment presentation.
- Develop strong clinical knowledge.
- Become excellent at consultative sales.
- Handle increasingly complex cases.
- Reach and exceed performance targets.
- Increase their earning potential.
- Take on greater responsibility.
- Become someone the doctors and team can depend on with our largest cases.
- Grow with the practice.
Your knowledge, performance, and ability to produce results will create opportunities for growth.
Most Importantly: We Work as a Team
Individual performance matters, but this is not an environment where people succeed at the expense of their coworkers.
We expect our team to have each other's backs.
If someone needs help, we help.
If a patient needs something, we don't ignore it because it isn't technically “our job.”
If you learn something that makes the team stronger, you share it.
If you make a mistake, you own it, learn from it, and improve.
We want someone who can be ambitious and driven while still understanding that we succeed together.
Work Schedule & Availability
This is a full-time position scheduled four days per week.
Grand Mission Dentistry is open:
- Monday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Tuesday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Wednesday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
- Thursday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
- Saturday: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Your four scheduled days are based on the staffing and coverage needs of the practice.
Availability to work two Saturdays per month is required.
Applicants should have flexibility within our operating hours. A specific four-day schedule is not guaranteed.
We work hard to create schedules that are fair and balanced while making sure our doctors, patients, and team are fully supported.
Experience
Dental experience is NOT required.
Sales experience is helpful, but we are also open to someone who has demonstrated the ability to build relationships, communicate confidently, influence decisions, work toward goals, and learn quickly.
Relevant backgrounds may include:
- Luxury retail
- Automotive
- Banking or financial services
- Apartment leasing
- Recruiting
- High-level customer service
- Other goal-driven, customer-facing positions
We would rather teach dentistry to the right person than hire someone with years of dental experience who isn't motivated to learn, grow, follow up, or produce results.
A Small Test Before You Apply
We are looking for someone who pays attention, follows directions, communicates well, and knows how to help people make decisions.
When you email your resume, begin your message with the words:
“Ready to Sell.”
Then, in 2–3 sentences, tell us about a time you helped someone make a decision they were unsure about.
What did you say or do that helped them feel confident enough to move forward?
It does not need to involve dentistry.
There is no perfect answer.
We want to learn how you communicate, how you think, and how you approach helping someone make a decision.
Applications that do not include “Ready to Sell” may not be considered.
Before You Apply, Ask Yourself:
Am I comfortable being measured by results?
Can I confidently talk about money?
Could I eventually present a $30,000 or $40,000 treatment plan without becoming uncomfortable?
Can I ask someone directly what is preventing them from moving forward?
Can I hear “no” without becoming discouraged?
Will I consistently follow up instead of assuming someone isn't interested?
Do I genuinely want to learn the clinical side of dentistry?
Do I want feedback?
Do I want to become better six months from now than I am today?
Do I want increased responsibility and earning potential?
Do I want to work somewhere where my performance matters?
If your answer is yes, we want to hear from you.
How to Apply
Begin your email with “Ready to Sell” and follow the application instructions above.
You don't need to already know dentistry.
You do need to be ready to learn it, believe in what you're presenting, and become exceptional at helping patients move forward.
